Practice makes perfect

As you all know the job hunting process is very difficult, especially nowadays with current events such as inflation, covid, etc. It's very hard for someone like me to land a job and while I do possess the technical knowledge I lack the hands-on experience. Luckily I was able to create a lab at home that helps me a bit with that. I am learning how to operate Active Directory as we speak, how to create new users, new organizational units, how to reset passwords, etc, stuff that will help me down the line if I ever find a job in IT.

So while you may be job searching right now and you may feel like you are not good enough know that there are options out there, keep practicing, and keep learning about the job you wanna do, so when that opportunity comes you will knock it out of the park.

My experience so far in my search for job in the IT Field.

When I first started this journey back in October 2021 at the time my biggest concern was getting the certifications to actually break into the industry. After reading about it and doing proper research I decided to begin getting certified. Fast forward to June 2022 and I now have A+, Net+, and Sec+ along with the Google IT Support Specialist certifications.

I figured that now that I have enough certs to get my foot on the door sort of speaking I should start applying for jobs. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that job hunting for an Entry Level position in IT would be such an uphill battle. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the process of applying but also at some point you begin to wonder if all this rejection is even worth it. You have to dig deep and remind yourself about the end goal which is to start on the career you love and move up to bigger and better things.

So far I have not been successful in finding a job in IT but I will continue to apply and hone my skills either by watching videos or practicing in my home lab. At the end of the day, I just hope someone out there will be willing to give me a chance to learn, a chance to grow, a chance to prove myself.
